 our mission
The mission of Independence Northwest is to support people with developmental disabilities to access resources necessary to ensure equality, respect, independence and complete ownership over their lives. The principles of self-determination are at the heart of our approach; we firmly believe that freedom, authority, autonomy, responsibility and confirmation are key aspects to the success of anyone and everyone.

Independence Northwest was formed for the sole purpose of providing support services to individuals within the constructs of the brokerage model. That model is founded on the principles of self-determination and therefore inherent in everything that we as an organization do.

We contract with the State of Oregon Department of Human Services to support 450 adults with disabilities in the metropolitan area (Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties).
